Summer Festivals & Events- 2018 Edition

Summer is officially here and it has brought a sweltering 90-degree heat wave. But, heat isn’t the only thing in the forecast. Central Massachusetts has so much to offer in the coming summer months. 3rd Annual WooTown WakeFest

Date: July 13, 14, and 15

Getting more popular every year, the WooTown WakeFest features great wakeboarding and wakesurfing action right on Lake Quinsigamond. It is intended for riders of all ages, all skill levels (amateur to pro), and of course, is fantastic for spectator viewing. The event will also feature live entertainment, food and drinks, swag and clothing, a 21+ adult beverage tent, and much more. Lessons will be offered (first come first serve) on Friday and Sunday. Get all the details here.

Moonlight Hike & Campfire

Date: July 27, 2018 at 7:00-9:30pm

Go on a guided nighttime walk among the fireflies on the beautiful trails at Wachusett Meadow.  The trails and landscape are magical by moonlight. You can listen for owls and coyotes, look for active beavers on Wildlife Pond, and search for owls in the treetops. Plus, after the walk you will enjoy s’mores around a campfire. Tickets are $10 for adults, you can register on the Mass Audubon website.

“J-Night” Event – Jamaican Jerk BBQ & Music

Date: August 4, 2018

Join the Hardwick Vineyard and Winery on Saturday, August 4th for an authentic Jamaican BBQ. Food will include jerk chicken, a pig roast, and lots of traditional Jamaican cuisine. Even better, all the food will be prepared from locally sourced ingredients. Bring your picnic blankets and friends, and then eat your hearts out and dance the night away with live Caribbean music and reggae. For ticket prices and more info click here.

Pow! Wow! Worcester 2018

Date: August 31 – September 9, 2018

POW! WOW! Worcester is a creative movement organized by a committee of passionate members of the local nonprofit, business, creative and collegiate community. 2018 marks the third annual art week which will take place from August 31st – September 9th. It will feature new large scale murals, art installations, immersive experiences, tours, events and more! Most events are free so watch the event website to find out locations and specific dates.
